The TLX has out sold the Lexus IS, 4 series, and Q50 in 2015. So while people such as myself, miss when Acura had sporty and cheap(ish) cars; can we really say they’re this big waste of a brand we claim they are?

Car enthusiasts hate Acura because they’re boring but the truth is they are now selling cars to exactly who they want to be selling cars to. If you think the TLX stats are surprising, check RDX and MDX.

Of course I’d also drive a Regal, which comes from the other entry level luxury company that’s quietly kicking ass while jalops wonder why they continue to live.

It looks very good. They may offer it with a manual. Probably available with their AWD or AWS. Very reliable. Well equipped. I’d buy one.

I checked out a TLX SH-AWD a few weeks ago. It’s actually pretty nice. Very comfy, not too big, much better visibility and ride than the old TL SH-AWD, and just sporty enough to not be completely boring. Overall I’d say it was a competent car with no real faults save for this weird herky-jerky feel to braking. Dunno if the transmission was downshifting or what was going on with that. It might bug people like us who are particularly attuned to their vehicles but it wasn’t super noticeable.

It was a totally reasonable, nice, if not particularly exciting option. I’m still sorta kinda thinking about it as an option for myself, even if they are totally anonymous. It would be quite...sensible. I’m just terrible at making sensible vehicle choices.

The RDX is almost as common as the RX where I live. And it has the benefit not being driven by annoying rich soccer moms. So, Acura is good in my books.

Based off that site as well for both 2014 and 2015 the Lincoln MKZ was only beat out in the MidSize Luxury segment by the Mercedes-Benz E Class, BMW 5 Series, and Lexus ES.

I have a soft spot for Honda/Acura because my first car I bought for myself was a ’92 Integra GSR. I can almost see myself driving a TLX SH-AWD but it’s definitely very normal compared to the stuff I usually end up driving.
